Cody's First Haircut

Upon his daddy's gentle persistence over the past 6 weeks, Cody had his first haircut today!  He did very well, no tears whatsoever, and only got squirmy when the stylist was working by his neck...he must be very ticklish there!  We were proud of him and he looks even more like a little boy now!

Sorry, I've been neglecting my blog for the last few weeks...just finding it hard to fit everything in my day, especially with all of those pesky TV shows that I'm addicted to watching (American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, etc...).  I finally have some free time tonight, as I am the only one awake in our house and its quite blissful :)  

It's been an interesting week or so around here.  I had a wonderful pre-Valentine's Day day on the Friday before, where my husband and little boy hand-delivered flowers to my workplace!  What a treat and total surprise.  Besides flowers (which would have totally been wonderful by themselves), they also both gave me very sweet cards, and treated me to a yummy cake and homemade supper.  I am truly blessed.  

Valentine's Day morning was spent relaxing at home, and then treating ourselves to a  yummy lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings.  Cody didn't seem too interested in his food, but I didn't think much of it.  After lunch, we did some shopping and while we were in the toy department at Target, Cody threw up everywhere!!!  I was so shocked!  He's never done it before and I was just so surprised.  Needless to say, we booked it out of there as fast as we could go.  He seemed completely fine afterwards and was playing and crawling around as he always does.  I thought maybe it was a flukey thing and that perhaps the few fries we gave him were too greasy (I know, bad Mommy....).  We gave him a small bottle and he seemed fine with that, so I gave him a normal supper and bottle before bed....only to have the ENTIRE meal & bottles come up again, ALL over me while I was rocking him!!!  It was, uh, interesting.

Anyway....long story short, Cody was still not feeling himself for a few days after that, but he is completely fine now.  I totally thought that Gordon & I would get the stomach bug next, and KNOCK ON WOOD because it could still happen, but so far, so good.  I started taking Airborne right away & we've both been taking vitamins religiously.  I don't know if they work but I figure they can't hurt.

Here's a few photos before the events of the day occurred....he was such a trooper through it all!  He only cried once and that was because I freaked out when it happened!

Speaking of...so sad, he received this cookie all the way from Baudette, MN and then couldn't even eat it because his tummy was upset!  Next year...

That would be 25 cents for a kiss, please!

11 Months Old

When I was taking Cody's 11 month photo, I noticed that my sign template was saved with the wrong year!  Whoops!  I looked back and I did forget to change January to 2009.  I did fix the sign and took some more photos, but it figures, my favorite picture that I took was BEFORE I made the change!  Oh well!

Oh What a Wonderful World!

What a different viewpoint Cody is getting now that he is crawling, kneeling and pulling up to a standing up position.  Lord, Help us ~ we have a toddler wannabe on our hands!!!

Sorry this video is sideways, I have been researching how to rotate it but my brain is covered in fog tonight & I can't figure it out!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes....

It's been an exciting week here in the Hart household.  Cody has accomplished some pretty big milestones.  I'll let this video do most of the talking:

So, finally, at nearly 11 months old (tomorrow!), Cody crawls forward!!!  He's been scooting, crawling backwards, and rolling to where he needs to go for several weeks (months?) now.  Over the weekend, he finally figured out how to move his arms & legs together and crawl forward.  Watch out!  On his sheet from daycare today, in big letters it says "HE'S EVERYWHERE!"  

Also this weekend, Cody figured out how to get from a laying down position to sitting up!  I think this is a pretty big deal - gives him a lot more options and ways to get comfortable and do what he wants to.  But who knows, maybe it was a one-time, flukey thing....we'll see!

He is also pulling up a bit on his crib and getting to a kneeling position in his crib or when he's trying to reach for something.  

Oh.  It's just all happening so fast :)
